The Children’s Foundation Distributes over $110,000 in Youth Awards at the 23rd Annual Reach for Success Awards Night presented by TD Bank.

On Thursday, June 20, 2024 at The Shark Tank, Loyalist College, in front of a full house of over 200 guests, The Children’s Foundation awarded over $110,000 to 75 deserving youth through Youth Awards, Bursaries, and Scholarships. The World is Your Canvas was the theme of the night, inspiring youth to chase their dreams and commit to success.

Nominated youth in the care of Highland Shores Children’s Aid and Mohawks Bay of Quinte received Awards for excellence in one of 6 categories: Academics, Sports, Art & Culture, Kindness, Leadership, and Personal Best.  Bursaries and Scholarships were awarded to qualifying post-secondary level students to help pay for tuition and other expenses they will incur.  These awards are made possible through the fundraising success of annual TCF Guardian Angel Gala.

“This was an incredible night of celebration where we acknowledged hard work, dedication, and the aspirations of youth in our community.  The Children’s Foundation is committed to fostering equal opportunities for youth to grow, learn and succeed in their education.  We are grateful to the many donors and community partners that contribute to the Reach for Success program – making it possible for youth to chase their dreams.”, Melanie Cressman, Executive Director, The Children’s Foundation serving Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties.

“It is motivating to hear about the achievements of the recipients of both the Youth Awards and the Reach for Success Bursaries. On behalf of everyone at Highland Shores Children’s Aid, I offer our most sincere congratulations to these children and youth, many of whom have prevailed despite the challenges they have faced. We want to thank the community for their continued support, and we look forward to celebrating the educational accomplishments of many more young people in the future”, Jess Uddenberg, Executive Director of Highland Shores Children’s Aid.

The Children’s Foundation provides and funds programs aimed at ensuring all children and youth in Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties have social and physical opportunities to explore, learn, play, and thrive.  Visit www.thechildrensfoundation.ca for more information.
