McHappy Day $23,000 MCHUGE SUCCESS!!

McHappy Day 2018 was a MCHUGE SUCCESS raising $23,000 for The Children’s Foundation. We would like to thank the wonderful McDonald’s owners in Belleville/Madoc Bob & Sylvia Doyle, Belleville (Dundas St.) Colin & Jodi McLean, Quinte West/Brighton Ken & Cynthya Schmidt and Bancroft Jamie Campbell & Terry Vanzant. Together with your support and all the amazing people in our communities we will be able to help many children experience camp. From everyone at The Children’s Foundation Staff and Board thank you for McHappy Day and every day! TCF graciously receives $25,000 from The Belleville Senators!

On Saturday, April 14th, 2018 Danielle Robinson and Jonathan Bodden of the Ottawa Senators Foundation along with Sens COO Rob Mullowney and Vice-President of Communications Roger Lajoie, proudly presented The Children’s
Foundation and four other local charities with a cheque for $25,000 each to support programming that benefits the Bay of Quinte in the areas of health, wellness, education and youth.

The Children’s Foundation Executive Director, Connie Reid is overwhelmed by the support of the new local AHL team and is excited for this partnership and what this will mean for our local children and youth.

The Foundation will utilize these funds for the Playing for Keeps program, which helps to cover the cost of registration fees for local children and youth to be able participate in the activity they love.  It is because of amazing partnerships and organizations like the Belleville Senators we are able to help families who are financially struggling.

2018 Guardian Angels Carmen & Darrell Smith Honoured at Annual Gala

On Saturday, March 3rd Carmen & Darrell Smith joined The Children’s Foundation Guardian Angel family as they were honoured, in front of a record 350 guests, at the foundation’s annual gala that raised $140,000! The Guardian Angel Award was created 16 years ago to recognize philanthropic leadership of individual(s) and groups.

Gala Chair, Aleesha Camp  commented,” This community truly is amazing. To all donors, thank you! This year we raised more than ever and this wouldn’t be possible without the support received from this amazing community.”

The Children’s Foundation Executive Director Connie Reid remarked, “Our community is so lucky to have generous individuals, not only sponsorship, monetary and item donations, but of their time. It is wonderful to include Darrell & Carmen to our list of Guardian Angels.”

Belleville Senators present donation to The Children’s Foundation

In 2017 & for 2018, The Children’s Foundation has partnered with the Belleville Senators collecting funds through 50/50 draws during home games.
On Friday, December 1st, 2017 in front of a sold out crowd, Belleville Senators presented The Children’s Foundation with a $10,000 donation.

2nd Annual Grape Crush for the Kids

We would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who worked with us in delivering our 2nd Annual Grape Crush for the Kids evening. This event raised over $20,000 for programs for children in Northumberland County. Thank you to our sponsors, vendors and our many new friends across Northumberland County that donated to our silent auction. To the committee thank you for your support and guidance over the last few months. And to those who were able to enjoy an evening at the stunning Victoria Hall right here in Northumberland County THANK YOU. We will be able to help many children in our community through our Playing for Keeps program because of your support 🙂

2017 Guardian Angel Gala a Huge Success

On Saturday March 4, 2017 Cynthya & Ken Schmidt were honoured as this year’s Guardian Angels in front of a record 330 guests, at The Children’s Foundation’s annual gala that raised a new record of $136,000. The Guardian Angel Award was created 17 years ago to recognize philanthropic leadership of individual(s) and groups and we could not think of two (2) more deserving angels within our community to honour. Congratulations, Cynthya & Ken.

We would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all of our exceptionally generous sponsors and donors and our guests. Please know you are truly directly impacting the lives of so many children locally through your generosity. To our lovely co-chairs, Martha Farrell & Sherry Archer, thank you for the endless hours you devoted into making this special evening shine as brightly as the stars and as our two newest Angels, Ken & Cynthya. 100 Men Who Care Quinte Makes Generous Donation to The Children’s Foundation

On Thursday, December 15, 2016 at The Children’s Foundation office, 100 Men Who Care Quinte Members Colin McLean and Ian Press presented The Children’s Foundation Executive Director, Connie Reid and Mark Kartusch, Executive Director with Highland Shores Children’s Aid with a cheque for $9,000 for their Camps of Hope program.

TCF’s Executive Director, Connie Reid Camp said, “So far this year, we have helped over 180 children sign up for a camp.  Every year, children in our community enjoy the enriching experience of attending camp they might not have had without the Camps of Hope program.”  Camps of Hope helps to pay registration fees for families in need.  The Camps of Hope program is available throughout the year including March break, summer and winter breaks and for any type:  outdoor camp, arts, day camp, or sports.

Mark Kartusch, Executive Director with Highland Shores Children’s Aid thanked this group for directing their funds to The Children’s Foundation.  “At camp, children will learn new skills and build life-long friendships. These experiences help create healthy pathways for all kids. The Foundation ensures that access to that pathway remains open for kids whose families are facing financial difficulties. Thank you to the 100 Men Who Care Quinte group for selecting The Children’s Foundation”.

Rotary Loves Kids Golf Tournament Makes Generous Donation to The Children’s Foundation

On Monday, December 12, 2016 at The Children’s Foundation (TCF) Board Meeting, Co-Chair of the Rotary Loves Kids Golf Tournament, Sam Brady presented The Children’s Foundation Board Chair, Aleesha Camp and Executive Director, Connie Reid with a cheque for $8,500 for the TCF Reach for Success bursary program.  To-date over $134,000 from the Rotary Loves Kids Golf Tournament has been donated to help youth continue their post-secondary education.

TCF’s Board Chair, Aleesha Camp said, “This past May, we gave out 50 bursaries to help youth continue their post-secondary education.  Through amazing partnerships, like the Rotary Loves Kids Golf Tournament and donations from the community, we are able to help youth in care reach their goals.”

Mark Kartusch, Executive Director with Highland Shores Children’s Aid thanked all Rotarians and the many individuals who helped to make the golf tournament another successful one this year. “All youth deserve the opportunity to expand their horizons through education. Thanks to the Rotary Club of Belleville and this wonderful community event, the lives of many young people have been changed.”

Most people know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday  …now Giving Tuesday is coming to Canada TODAY Tuesday, November 29.

This is a new Canadian movement for giving back ,taking place each year after Cyber Monday. The “Opening day of the giving season,” it is a day where charities, companies and individuals join together to share commitments, rally for favourite causes and think about others.

Our Family Services Holiday Programs need your help and we want to thank Mark & Ingrid at 95.5 Hits FM for spreading the word,  along with our Community Partner, Dave Allen at #ymcabelleville who is helping to support local Kids for the upcoming holiday season.
