On Monday June 22nd, Quinte Children’s Foundation Board of Directors, Members, and guests alike attended the Annual General Meeting.
Ken Schmidt, Board Chairman highlighted 2014 as having been an exciting year of transition for QCF. In October 2014, QCF recognized outstanding donors of the Foundation with a “Guardians of Hope” monument located outside the Belleville site. In November, QCF was honoured to have been selected as the recipient of the Ontario Trillium Foundation Grant which allowed for two (2) full-time staff to be hired in February of 2015; a Program Coordinator on site at both Picton and Cobourg offices to better help serve these areas.
QCF Staff and Directors would like to especially thank Past Chairperson, Patricia Guernsey for her many years of dedication, hard work and sacrifice to making the Foundation into what it is today. Patricia, Team Guernsey, Royal LePage Pro- Alliance is a well known face in the community. She happily joined QCF Board of Directors in 2009 and has committed endless hours of her time and efforts into assisting with the planning and successes of events like our annual Play A Round for the Kids Golf Tournament, Guardian Angel Gala’s and Ken Sykes Run/Walk to name a few.
QCF would also like to recognize former Board Director, Nancy Lowthian for serving The Foundation for over a year. Nancy was an active member of our 2014 Guardian Angel Gala Committee honouring Peter Smith. We thank Nancy for her dedication to helping us improve the lives of Children in our communities.
We would like to offer our most sincere and heartfelt thanks to Board Director, John Cairns for so graciously offering to host this year’s AGM. We could not have asked for a nicer evening at John’s residence, overlooking the Bay of Quinte.
On a final note, upon reflection at our AGM of our wonderful year, we must not forget to thank each and every one of our Board Directors, as well as Members, our gracious donors, Staff and all of our incredible volunteers and supporters for the endless hours of time and commitment you so selflessly give to help support us at the Foundation – we would be nothing without you. “Together, we are Helping One Child at a Time”
